Welcome

Hello and welcome to Whole Wheat Radio Duncan! Image:Wavingicon.gif

This is your Talk page where other users leave you messages. You also have a User page to use as you please. Click the User page tab above to see your user page. Most people write something about themselves so other people have an idea who you are.

Do not be afraid! Image:Smile.gif Using a wiki (community run website) can be intimidating until you get used to it. Please remember that we all started with similar fears - but the water is fine after the initial shock. If you make a "mistake", don't worry. Someone will fix it. If you make a lot of mistakes, someone will try to help you. We're all in this little boat together and we all want to see it succeed. Welcome aboard!

Some helpful pages are:

If you have questions please ask Mr. Monkey. He'll be happy to tell you everything he knows. Don't worry about messing up - it's better to Be Bold than to be afraid on a wiki site. We've gotcha covered.

Once again, welcome! And when you're tired of seeing this message on your talk page, just erase the line that says {{welcome}} and it will disappear. Image:Thumbsup.gif

Hi Duncan. Did you try the "Email Password" button when you logged in? Kelli (talk/contribs) 16:11, September 12, 2008 (AKDT)

Yes, I tried the email password option and was told I needed to log in. My mouse is worn out from all the clicking I did last night. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Duncan (talkcontribs) Please sign comments with four tildes ~~~~
Hi again Duncan. The password thing is sure helpful, huh? If you could log in you wouldn't need your password. Image:Smile.gif If it has been over 3 months since you've been here, there is a good chance your account was deleted. That may be what happened. If you don't think that is the problem, you can try leaving a message on Jim's talk page. Be sure to give him a detailed description of the problem. He's pretty busy right now so don't know when he'll get to it. Hang in there! You'll get used to everything eventually. Kelli (talk/contribs) 10:18, September 13, 2008 (AKDT)

No, I'm good with this. I'll figure it out bit by bit. Kelli, I think we met before, right? Maybe in the chat...is there still a chat? Also, is editing this page the only way people can communicate? LOL

The "chat" has changed and is now the Live collaboration page. You can find a link in the left menu of every page. If you don't see a text box at the top, try making a few edits around the site and it should appear. Kelli (talk/contribs) 12:45, September 13, 2008 (AKDT)

Hi Duncan, Welcome back. I tried to e-mail you awhile back and don't know if it got through. I have been singing "Shine" for a lot of my programs for kids and we really love it. Firewalk (talk/contribs) 04:43, September 13, 2008 (AKDT)

Hey Rich! Glad to hear you're still around. I'm THAT confused with the new layout here it's not funny. Hoping all is going well.

Hi Duncan,

I saw that you made it into to what now qualifies as chat last night and got to hear at least some of the Wheatstalk House Concert. The WWR Wiki is BIG, and I know it can be quite daunting to find your way around, but you seem to be getting your bearings quite well, congratulations for that.

Any time I see one of the artists on our site participating and interacting with the listeners and contributing to the Wiki it does my heart good. I like to think of WWR as both a community of Independent Musical Artists and a community of discriminating Listeners who support independent artists and who together make up a larger community doing battle against the Corporate Mega Music Machine and supporting the Unsigned Gigging Musician wherever he or she may be.

I build a lot of the Artist Pages here, and if fact built the most recent manifestation of your artist page, doing the best I could with the pictures and information from your website. I constantly seek to improve pages and spend a great deal of time tweaking pages that have already been built. I would like to make your page here more unique to WWR and less an emulation of the material from your website. To that end it would be really great if I could get a couple of good high resolution, well focused, properly exposed photographs to work into your site. What I am looking for is at least one nice color head shot and one performance shot playing your instrument, similar to your user image but color and in focus and well lighted and not over or under exposed. If you have anything like that, or a friend with a nice Canon digital camera who could snap a few of you, you could upload them here using the upload images link in the left hand column and I can take it from there, simply leave me a note on my talk page letting me know if or when you have done so.

Also, if you type four tildes in a row, that thing to the left of the "1" on your keyboard (~), at the end of your messages, the Wiki will automatically sign your message and add the date and time the message was posted. That makes it easier to see who said what, and when.

Do you have any plans to produce a CD of music geared to adults in the works? Or does such a thing already exist? If so, It would be great to have it on WWR. Yours, Kazookid (talk/contribs) 07:08, September 14, 2008 (AKDT)

Duncan Wells (talk/contribs) 08:52, September 14, 2008 (AKDT) Hey Kazookid..my "adult" song recordings are made for demo purposes. I consider them to be good "demo" quality recordings that serve the purpose intended. I also have a lot of adult songs recorded live in performance but again, the quality of the recordings make them suitable for demo purpose only. I use these recordings to pitch to other artists. If you know anyone looking for new material for an upcoming project please mention my name. Any real money I can get my hands on I use for recording original children's songs. As for photos, I do have a lot of them and I will choose a couple to upload. I certainly appreciate all your help. I had no idea WWR had folks like you hangin around. I listened for about an hour last night and WOW...the live format is very nice. If you're interested, here is an example of one of my adult song demos.
