Our son Topher, who is an aspiring actor, comedian and musician living in Toronto has been shooting (October 1-5, 2008) a series of webisodes for MicroSoft. One of them will be edited into a Cable TV spot that will run on Much (MuchMusic), the most popular Canadian music channel. Needless to say, we're pretty excited. He is the principal character and basically gets the crap beat after him in one scene after another while he ad libs some dialogue. At least he's working!

I've been playing with a local singer, Sylvia Inwood who does a mix of standards and world music which sings in a variety of languages. I play accordion or piano with Dean Western on acoustic bass. We call ouselves the "Woodtones."

We spent a quiet Yuletide with Topher, our only kid, who came home from Toronto for a couple weeks. He recently landed a couple of small roles in two different shows on Canadian TV (Urban Legends and Cold Blood) which will be airing sometime in 2009 and we're hoping that leads to more acting work in the year ahead. I've been busy writing content for the Ford Displays at the major auto shows. It's tough time to be in Detroit and in the car biz, and I'm lucky to be working. My lovely bride CJ is the one-woman Employee Assitance Program for the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Unions and their membership is going through some very tough times. Still, we were all grateful to be well and together for the holidays. We're all looking forward to making the New Year the best one of the millenium so far.
