Musicians - Please Read!
- If you've listened to our stream or looked at the playlists/other artists and know that you fit (i.e. singer-songwriter, folk, jazz, blues, etc.) please do not send an email asking if it's okay if you send your CD! Yes, it's okay. Send it. Just do it. Unlike many radio stations where it's polite to ask and where you want to make sure your music is welcome, we put it all in the library and let the listeners decide what stays and what goes.
- If you've sent your CD, please do not write emails asking if we received it and when it will be put in the music library. We most likely did receive it and just haven't gotten to it yet. I'm sorry --- but we have other lives and cabin renovations and gardens and broken down cars and all the stuff that normal people have. This ain't a business - we don't charge nobody for nuthin' - so please don't demand we take immediate action on your CD. Sometimes it takes me several weeks, occasionally a month or two, to get to the CD ripping. If you sent your CD more than 2-3 months ago but still don't see it available in the music library, then it's okay if you drop a quick email asking if we got it.
- We do not 'promote' CDs. If you've just finished reading your first book about music promotion and are all brigh-eyed and bushy-tailed about how many sales we're going to send your way, you'd be better off focusing on iTunes. Seriously. This is not a 'promotional' type station. Whatever promotion/sales/fame comes from Whole Wheat Radio is a side-effect of you producing great music, thought-provoking lyrics or other subtleties - not from 'promoting' to listeners.
- Please do not add us to your promotional email list without our permission. We will subscribe to those we're interested in. If you are an artist who wants to send your music for airplay, more information is here.
People who want information about Talkeetna - Please Read!
- I'm sorry, but we're not the chamber of commerce. We're not even a welcoming committee. I wish we could write nice folksy replies to people who want to know what it's like to live in Talkeetna, what the job situation is, what happened to their old friends, etc. but we simply don't have time. Emails from the general public asking us about Talkeetna lifestyle, events and/or people usually sit unanswered for months. I'm sorry, sincerely, for not being able to answer them. You're free to write them if you want but please don't expect a reply. Thanks for understanding.
People who have questions about this website or WWR in general - Please Read!
- Almost every question you could possibly ask in an email is answered on this website - somewhere. Yes, it can be difficult to find. But consider this. I hate email. That's right. I hate it. It gets in the way of an otherwise productive day and productive life. Email is worse than TV. For those who might think the amount of email received is somehow a popularity contest and that I enjoy being popular, let me assure you: I never was popular, never wanted to be popular and, heaven willing, never will be popular.
- It wouldn't be so bad if people at least tried to answer their own questions first before writing, but we apparently live in a culture where lazy people think they have a right to immediate and personalized answers to all their questions. The internet abounds with these immediate gratification twits. Of course they aren't willing to spend 15 minutes of their precious lives to even attempt researching the answer but they seem to think my time is worth less than theirs so they have no reservation about asking me to waste 15 minutes of my time answering their question that has been answered in several other places on the site.
How to send an email to Whole Wheat Radio
Read the three sections above. If you don't even want to take the time to read them, I can almost assure you that your email will never receive a reply.
After reading them, set up an account on this website. You can do that by going here and setting up an account on this website. We don't spam you and it doesn't cost a thing. All it does is confirm that you're a real human being and that you're willing to let us know who you really are. After you've set up an account, you can click here to send us an email. Or you can go directly toNote that you'll have to enter your email using an edit box found on that page. Once we've received your email and have confirmed that you are someone we will be corresponding with, we will reply with our actual email address so you can use your normal email program to communicate with us from then on. If we do not reply to you, you will have to continue clicking on that link to send us email.
Some of you will find this procedure to be such a pain-in-the-butt that you won't bother. We understand. We hope you in turn will understand why we finally had to make it difficult to get our email address since our inbox was filled with so much junk. We don't have a big staff. We are 2 people who want to live semi-normal lives so we can't spend all day filtering through junk mail.
Spam
All unsolicited email of a commercial mail without appropriate explanation will result in the sender being blocked. If you are a bulk emailer and you create an account on this system ... you, your IP block (not just your IP but every one around you), and anything related to you will be permanently blocked from this site and any other sites under our control. In addition, you will go directly to hell.
