From WWR
I'm a computer consultant, living in Camdenton, Missouri with my wife of 34 years who for some strange reason still speaks to me. Two dogs, 3 sons grown and out on their own, 3 grandkids and two more on the way.
Just some thoughts I've had while listening to WWR:
I am a creature of variety. I even get sick of stuff I like if I get too much of it. But I get reeeeeeally sick of crap I don't like being played over and over. That to say this: I love the variety of the music on WWR, and the fact that the playlists are listener-driven. I find the statistics on how many times a song has played, when it played last, etc., very refreshing.
I think it makes sense for an artist to allow royalty-free play of their music. I am much more likely to buy music I have heard and like than I am to buy music I have only heard about but can't fully evaluate until I pay for it. Kudos to the brave artists who air their work on WWR!
I appreciate artists who manage to entertain without preaching. I can always find someone to tell me what I should think or should do, harder to find someone who can help me reach the things inside that help me to understand and grow. I am not referring only religious preaching, by the way, but also political preaching, lifestyle preaching, whatever. I'm not saying it should be banned or censored, only that I shut it off about 99 times out of 100, and the other time I can't reach the knob. I spent my years trying to change the world.
Thanks to Jim and others for making me feel welcome. If you really knew me, you might change your mind, but I'll try not to be too obnixious as I get my feet on the ground here.

I sound pompous and unapproachable. Strong temptation to erase the above, maybe try again. Weasel's way out ... option rejected. Stay tuned.
