My Paternal ancestors were German immigrants in the mid 1800s. They were butchers leaving Germany around the time of the revolutions of 1848. They landed in Chicago after passing through Ellis Island and having their Von Reineke name 'Americanized'. They ended up in San Francisco, California during the gold rush period. Men in my family tend to be hard working, liberal and nearly normal. |

My Maternal Grandparents were Seminole Indians from Florida. While generally a peaceful peoples who were attacked in the early 1800s for harboring runaway slaves they finally did stand their ground which was the Great Seminole War - lasting almost seven years and costing thousands of lives. It finally ended in 1842 with the agreement that several hundred members of the tribe could remain in Florida. They stayed in the Florida swamps but never surrendered. Their descendants are the Seminole in Florida today. |  |
I, on the other hand am pure Cal-uh-forn-I-A; probably the most California guy you will ever meet. Which would mean my dad is pure Schwarzenegger, my mom all Hollywood and I am redwoods, ocean, mountains, desert and a gigantic breadbasket. |

- OMG! He does not list Paul Butterfield as an influence, but he certainly has the Butterfield Blues Band sound down, especially in the song Cold, Cold, Feeling.
- Shane Henry has apparently gone over to the dark side as the CD is no longer available on CDBaby. :(

Once in a while a sound grabs your "I know you" button and twists its way through your mind to the other side where a switch gets flicked and your inside narrator smiles, saying: 'I LIKE IT!!'. Mad Tea Party does that for me. Lucky East Coast.

Short Rant
I am neither musician, poet, DJ or much other than a listener. I am not (as a list of people who seem to contribute a lot) a KazooKid, Kelli, KimChi, or (I trust she won't mind me using this)a menopausal, cranky Aries woman LOL (loved that one). The wiki is a nice distraction, an amazing creation and a great way to present the information side of the music. Which is just what independents want. But I am here to listen, learn, buy CDs and hang out. It is what I do best.
Contribute I will. But being from California, not too far from the hydrogen highway, I do tend to talk freely and often, human interaction is important to me. I am an eager learner. I searched everywhere for a tag/cat for slide guitar and until KimChi mentioned it never noticed it was a sub heading of Guitar. The chat page is how I learn and another way I contribute, by being one of the lurkers that post.
