COMMUNITY NEWS

News and communications by and for the community.
Feel free to add but please stay focused on the "business" of Whole Wheat Radio, the community and independent music.
Post new items at the top of the page ... and if everyone could help remove outdated items at the bottom it would be a big help.

Get some attention

How to Call Attention to Your Music, by Derek Sivers of CD Baby fame, is a PDF book filled with ideas on the business of independent music. Everything from marketing to working the internet. I'm not a musician, but reading through it I see lots of ideas that apply to visual arts, as well as other creative fields. Download it for free (he's not charging for the book). sparx (talk/contribs) 20:19, June 24, 2008 (AKDT)

Adopt-a-user proposal

Are you interested in helping another user learn the ropes of WWR's wiki? Or perhaps you'd like to learn more about editing on the WWR wiki? Visit the Adopt-a-user page. We're assessing if there is enough interest in a mentoring program. sparx (talk) 20:21, May 9, 2008 (AKDT)

Council Of Elders

WWR is back up without chat capabilities for the time being.

I'm drafting a set of guidelines to form a "Council of Elders" to help deal with present and future personality problems at WWR.

I will no longer shoulder the sole burden of responsibility and the resulting complaints and personal attacks for taking actions that need to be taken on this website. I will no longer accept sole responsibility for quietly being the voluntary police force that is assigned the unpleasant task of dealing with online substance abusers, online stalkers, trolls, email attackers and other people who disrupt the good intentions, good portions and good people of this website.

The chat will not be enabled until this group is assembled and ready to take action when needed. ---Jim
